Big News for 2012

Tourist Trap USA will begin posting comics every Monday, Wednesday and Friday starting April 2nd! So Bookmark the page, sign up to the email feed, and like our Facebook page to stay updated! TT facebook

Before that begins though the Spin off comic strip 'The Holiday's' will be in a contestant. It's the 2012 amatuer cartoonist contest that Tourist Trap was in last year. The contest starts Feburary 6th and here is a link to to contestant page. Contestant page The Holiday's is a comic strip that stars a family while on vacation. Bringing it back

I've been thinking pretty hard about bringing the comic back. It's got a new art style and a new theme of also going out into the town and experiencing the funny attractions. A lot of the same old jokes will be there too, but not as much geek stuff. I'm going to accumulate a few months in advance and try to submit it to a syndication company to get it in the papers! Here is a sample.

I just heard the the impending doom may occur for Journeyman the new show after Heroes on NBC. The creator thinks because of the writers strike, and low ratings it may be canceled only after 12 episodes. So I'm hopeing that if anyone still reads this comic, they might geek out with me and watch a lot, and I mean A LOT of Journeyman. Tell your friends, and watch it online. It's my favorite new show of the season, not to say Chuck, and Reaper aren't good. And Heroes is still number 1, but Journeyman is really Awesome! you should check it out!http://www.nbc.com/Journeyman

Between the writers strike, Thanksgiving, and me starting work as the relief auditor for 3 different resorts, it will be a little hard to make comics that incorporate well into this week. Tourist trap will return next week, and have a happy Thanksgiving!

So this is kinda a weird way to pay tribute to mike, but this plant is now going to be in almost every strip. (any where it involves the desk) So I will actually be paying tribute to Mike Wieringo in every strip this just explains it. This strip is also one of the only ones where spring and Allen will get along. Also starting next week I will be doing the strip every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and every other Sunday. This way I will have more time to make them, and the series will last longer.

Mike Wieringo's death

I will not be posting a new comic for Tuesday. I discovered today that my favorite comic book artist died Sunday of a heart attack. This has deeply saddened me. He was the man that really inspired me to draw. He had a website he posted to regularly.. which seems to be taken down now here, and a news article about the tragic event here. When My father died I turned to comics at the age of 13. Mike was the greatest artist I'd ever seen. I was lucky enough to see him once in my lifetime, but the lost of this very influential man has greatly saddened me. I will probably devote the next comic to a tribute to him... If you want to see his art, he still has his deviant page here. And this pic in the post was the last he ever posted on his site. If this post makes little sense, you can tell the pain I am feeling.
